To start off Media Launch day the Gators fended off the Sharks by a close 2 – 1 score. Austin Merkley started the scoring with a great shot off the rush. Blaine Cameron answered a couple minutes later, as he deked and weaved on his way to an outstanding goal. Moses Yorke scored late in the 3rd off a rebound from Brian Bertrand. Gators were in some penalty trouble late but Tammy Culhane shut the door in net.
In the second matchup, the Bears overpowered the Wolves 4 – 1 ending their 6-game winning streak. James Fleet scored the opening goal midway through the 1st period when he slid a shot past Tyler Sage. From then on, the Bears had heavy offensive zone time as Mohammed Awad put up a 4-goal effort. Wolves goalie Thalia McBride had multiple huge saves.
