In the first game of the day, the Wolves shutout the Gators 4 – 0. The Wolves started out the game strong with 2 goals in 25 seconds late in the 1st period. Gators had a string of offensive zone posessions but were unable to score on Thalia McBride’s stellar play in net. Gators goalie Tammy Culhane also had a very strong game, working well with defensemen Kyle Robinson & Ryan Lythall. #3 Johnson Wilson scored 4 goals and #6 Delaney Dunlop had 1 assist.
Next up, the Bears defeated the Sharks 5 – 3. Most of the scoring was done in the 1st period with a combined 5 goals. After the Bears’ Mo Awad put his team up 2 goals, Sharks Matheiu Gagnon answered with a beautiful wrap around tally midway through the 2nd period. Bears added another goal in the period, and no goals were scored in the 3rd period. Bears #9 Mo Awad scored 4 goals, #3 Atinc Erdin scored 1 goal 1 assist, and #2 Emerson Bartel contributed 2 assists. Sharks #2 Matt Gagnon had 2 goals 1 assist, #1 Robin Guillotte had 1 goal 2 assists, and Kellen Schleyer, Hollis Peirce & Austin Merkley all had 1 assist.
