Jan. 8th Game Summary

OPWHL action returned this past Sunday with 2 high scoring games!

First off, in the battle of the 1st & 2nd place teams, the Wolves defeated the Bears 6 – 4. This was a back and forth matchup, with the Wolves going up by 2 goals with just under a minute remaining. Johnson Wilson scored 4 goals with 2 assists, and James Fleet & Nikki Virdee had 1 goal each. Bears Mohammed Awad scored 4 goals and Emerson Bartel & Atinc Erdin had 1 assist.

The Sharks and Gators clashed with a very exciting 5 – 5 tie! The Gators had multiple 2 goal leads but the Sharks came back each time, including tying the game off the rush with just :18 seconds remaining in the 3rd. Moses Yorke scored all 5 Gators goals and Scott Haycock & Tiana Toth-Vent each had 1 assist. Sharks Matt Gagnon had 4 goals 1 assist, Austin Merkley had 1 goal 1 assist, and Kellen, Robin & Hollis had 1 assist each.
